The Hourglass

You have a small well-defined waist and equally proportioned fuller bust and hips.

What to look out for:

  • Wear matching bikinis sets in one colour or matching prints to keep you top and bottom in proportion.
  • Retro swimwear with high-waisted briefs and boxy halter tops will highlight your figure.
  • Choose a swimsuit to accentuate your curves with waist detail and ruching.
  • Bandeau/strapless swimwear are extremely flattering on an hourglass figure.
  • Steer clear from string bikinis and monokinis that will accentuate your widest areas.

The Pear

You are curvier at the hips, waist and thighs and smaller on the bust. When choosing swimwear be aware of balancing out your proportions.

What to look out for:

  • Look out for eye-catching or padded/push up bikini tops to create cleavage and accentuate your bust.
  • Pair up a patterned bikini or tankini top with plain bottoms to draw attention to your top half.
  • Keep your bottom half simple and modest with a classic high-leg brief to elongate your legs.
  • Accentuate your narrow shoulders with a bandeau top or asymmetrical swimsuit.

The Apple

You are curvier at the hips, waist and thighs and smaller on the bust area. When choosing swimwear be aware of balancing out your proportions.

What to look out for:

  • High-waisted briefs with a briefs with a bikini or tankini top are great for smoothing out the waist.
  • Look for bikini bottoms or swimwear with gathers, ruching or shirring details.
  • Swimsuits with wrap-around or cross-over fabric around the waist work a treat.

The Rectangle

Your figure is 'straight up and down' which means you have a small bust and narrow hips and waist. Flaunt your figure with less coverage to give the illusion of more curves.

What to look out for:

  • Padded tops and triangle bikinis will instantly create cleavage.
  • Choose bold prints, ruffles, ruching and embellishments to give you more shape.
  • Monokinis are great to give you instant curves.

The Strawberry

You have a fuller bust, broad shoulders and a narrow waist and hips. You will want more support on the bust to balance out the body.

What to look out for:

  • Choose swimwear with bra sizes, underwires and adjustable straps for great support.
  • Avoid embellishments and ruffles on the top to minimise the attention on your bust.
  • Try swim dresses or skirted briefs that will bring you body into proportion.
  • Avoid bandeau/strapless tops that won't offer as much support.
  • Mix and match your swimwear sets by wearing a plain top with patterned briefs.
